July's Blue Sky

Hello all! So I have sky-dived! It was quite awesome! I don't know, it was really scary, but then again, I was jumping out of a plane! lol. But seriously I think that I was most freaked out about three times in the air. The first was just as I let go of the plane and floated out into the open air. That in it's self is wierd because you can feel nothing around you but cold fast moving air. Then I was wiggin'out when I couldn't get hold of my rip cord (though not so much because I had two instructors with me who could pull it), then I was freaking out right after the cord was pulled because I got really disorientated and I didn't have any clue waht direction to go (for landing). But other than that, is was pretty exhilarating!!!!
Really, I shouldn't have worried about a single thing because I knew what to do in case of emergency (like the main shoot was twisted up some how, there's a back up). I also had a one-way radio attached to my helmet so someone could give me directions for landing and they could check to make sure I had control.
It took a really long time to finally jump(and I got a free extra ride in the plane, because of the cloud cover stoppping us from diving initially) but I finally jumped at around 7:00 p.m. or so. My brother Craig jumped after me, and his turned into a night jump (some people actually do those on purpose, though this time wasn't really on purpose!) There were eight of us jumping, including my other brother Joe. We all stayed until Craig jumped (he actually landed directly on his rump, lol, though he is OK). I got it professionally taped (up in the air) I haven't even seen the footage yet! I don't think any of us thought it would take so long for all of us to jump. ah well... It was still great, even if just to say I have done it before. : )
